The throw-away lifestyle of contemporary cities has increased the demand for plastic packaging and as a result the production of plastic waste. Print Your City! is a new circular design and production method which optimises the recycling process of plastic and enables urban dwellers to transform their plastic waste into public space components through the use of robotic-3d-printing. This zero-waste process empowers citizens to sustainably develop their urban regions by creating a short and circular material cycle for plastic and, at the same time, strengthen the local economy with new technologies.
This circular city concept will be beta-tested at the green village and will provide results based on workshops with citizens, students and stakeholders, a social media campaign, applied research, prototyping, and business model development. Print Your City! will process locally the plastic waste and make use of TGV as a living lab for the campus.
